Title: 3rd Shift - Winding Room Technician
Location: Erie, PA
Salary Range: Starting @ $15.00 per hour
Position: Mold Technician
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented 3rd shift Winding Room Technician to support filament winding and parts production. This role is critical to ensuring high-quality manufacturing of composite components through precise machine operation, material handling, and adherence to process standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and monitor filament winding machines and related equipment
Prepare mandrels, fibers, and resin systems according to work instructions
Perform pattern programming and adjustments (if applicable)
Ensure proper tension, alignment, and material placement during winding
Conduct in-process inspections to verify product quality and specifications
Maintain accurate production and quality records
Perform routine equipment maintenance and cleaning
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve processes
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
Previous experience in composite materials, filament winding, or manufacturing is a plus
Mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings/work instructions
Strong attention to detail and quality control mindset
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Comfortable working with composites, resins, fibers, and industrial equipment
Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface
Submission to a criminal background check
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CNC or automated winding equipment
Knowledge of differing materials. (Composites, resins, fibers, etc)
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
