CNC Machinist
We are seeking a skilled setup machinist to join our team, specializing in the operation and programming of DMG MORI or Hitachi Seiki CNC turning centers. This role involves setting up machines, modifying existing programs using G code or DMG MORI programming software, and ensuring the production of precision parts through regular inspection.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate DMG MORI or Hitachi Seiki CNC turning centers.
Occasionally modify existing programs at the machine using G code or DMG MORI programming software.
Regularly inspect tools and parts to ensure the production of precision parts.
Communicate any delays, issues, or concerns to management.
Ensure measuring equipment accuracy by using the standard in the inspection room.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
Extensive hands-on experience in the setup and operation of CNC machines.
Familiarity with selecting, maintaining, and using various cutting tools and fixtures.
Strong troubleshooting abilities for identifying and resolving machining issues.
Experience in implementing process improvements and efficiencies.
Ability to program CNC machines from scratch when needed.
Skilled in selecting optimal tool path strategies, including feeds, speeds, and depths of cuts.
Versatility in operating both CNC vertical machining centers and turning centers is highly preferred.
High attention to detail with capability of maintaining tight tolerances.
Advanced knowledge of shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
Ability to interpret and understand complex technical drawings and blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Ability to calculate RPM based on SFM.
Experience in running both new and repetitive jobs efficiently.

The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00/yr.
