Job Summary:
LifeLine Ambulance Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented AR Revenue Cycle Collections Specialist to manage complex medical billing workflows and optimize accounts receivable. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for resolving claim denials, navigating payer regulations, and maintaining high productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Claims Management: Resolve all denials and correspondence tasks
A/R Optimization: Target and resolve unpaid claims exceeding 60 days from the date of service, ensuring previously worked claims are reviewed every 30 days
Appeals & Resolutions: Research, identify, and resolve claim rejections or underpayments. Prepare and submit corrected claims, formal appeals, and supporting documentation to payers
Communication: Act as a liaison between payers, patients, and internal staff to facilitate claim resolution and track outstanding appeals
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in revenue cycle collections is required. Previous experience in EMS billing is highly preferred
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, along with a deep understanding of government and commercial payer regulations
Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong typing skills
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Core Competencies:
Analytical Thinking: Ability to recognize A/R trends, multi-task, and solve complex billing problems independently
Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for effective payer negotiations and internal reporting
Professionalism: A positive attitude with a high degree of accountability, flexibility, and the initiative to master new tasks
