Job Summary: This posting is for a Federal Work Study position. To be eligible for WorkStudy positions you must maintain enrollment in at least six (6) credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA), and have financial aid in place. Monitors the Visual Arts Lab (IC-120) to ensure safety and security of all supplies. Assists Visual Communication Department with clerical tasks supporting special projects as needed.
Essential Duties: Supports art department staff with special projects related to improving common spaces and art galleries in the division (organizing, filing, documenting, sorting, and cleaning). Monitors common spaces such as computer labs, art galleries, and/or classrooms when appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Position involves long periods sitting at a computer plus light to medium work, which includes, kneeling, and carrying and lifting of light to medium weight materials (10 to 25 pounds). Must be able to operate a computer and general office equipment. Requires ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.
Education and Experience: Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better (some positions may require a higher GPA), and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires basic office and clerical skills and familiarity with general office equipment including personal computers. Requires good communication and customer relations skills, including electronic communication. Familiarity with department policies and procedures is preferred.
