As an NC Programming Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in numerical control programming. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to innovative projects and gaining hands-on experience in the aerospace industry.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and optimizing numerical control (NC) programs for manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand design specifications and manufacturing requirements.
Support the testing of NC programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Participate in the review and update of existing NC programs to improve production quality and reduce cycle times.
Help maintain documentation and records of NC programming activities and revisions.
Contribute to troubleshooting and resolving issues related to NC programming and machine operation.
Assist in the integration of new technologies and software tools into the NC programming workflow.
Engage in continuous learning and skill development related to NC programming and aerospace manufacturing technologies.
Adhere to industry standards and company policies regarding safety and quality in NC programming tasks.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Basic understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and materials.
Familiarity with NC (Numerical Control) programming and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines.
Experience with CAD/CAM software such as CATIA, NX, or Mastercam.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
Ability to work effectively under supervision and take initiative when necessary.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Currently pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and vibrations.
