This role is a key position within our Bistro production room and operates and maintains the sealing machine equipment. This pivotal role impacts line efficiencies by increasing production, reducing rework and minimizing downtime.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections for quality
Perform basic preventative maintenance of the equipment when applicable
Basic troubleshooting
Observe production and monitors equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
Manage and reduce waste (product giveaway) by use of scale system
Communicate and educate other associates for the purpose of maintaining good product quality as it enters the sealing equipment
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Follow and enforce the 5S Methodology including maintaining tools and equipment as defined by the 5S marking.
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math.
Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.
Eager to learn, and work as part of the team
Ability to deliver consistent quality results through a sense of urgency and taking initiative, while also demonstrating flexibility to meet business needs.
Problem solving skills
Attention to detail and reliability.
Physical Work Environment:
Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements (i.e., loading bowls into tray carrier). The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
Ability to move about within a fast paced environment in/outside facility, and traverse between maintenance shop & production floor.
Ability to ascend/descend on stairs/ladder for repairs
Ability to position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Ability to frequently move, push, or carry items up to 50lbs
Exposed to a cold & wet environment of 34 degrees.
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
Must be able to exchange accurate information through frequent communications within all levels of the organization
Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, and assess surroundings
While performing the duties of this job, this position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold for extended periods of time. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
