Shipping & Receiving Specialist I

Eckert & Ziegler Analytics seeks a Shipping & Receiving Specialist I who is responsible for; (1) packaging and shipping of hazardous material shipments according to 49CFR and IATA regulations to domestic and international customers, (2) receipt and disposition of shipments, materials and supplies, (3) warehouse organization and upkeep, and (4) support of facility maintenance.
Essential duties include performing packaging and shipping of all customer orders including radioactive, hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with DOT and IATA regulations. Receive, inspect and log-in consolidated shipments, radioactive materials, parts, supplies and customer supplied containers. Verify packing list against purchase orders. Ensure that all shipping and receiving documents are delivered to Accounting department daily. Ensure that all outgoing shipments have been wiped for contamination and wipe data documented in appropriate logs. Ensure receiving, shipping and warehouse areas are safe, clean, and organized. Maintain all packaging and shipping supplies. Assist with facility maintenance and upkeep. Knowledgeable of ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ISO 17043 standard requirements, and ensures responsibilities to the standard are met within the department. Other tasks as deemed necessary by Manager.
Requirements include a high school diploma, minimum of one year experience in shipping and receiving hazardous materials. Dangerous Goods / IATA certification a plus. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with customers, peers, and management. Must understand general mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, algebra and geometry). Knowledge of FedEx, UPS, and carrier shipments. Knowledge and use of ALARA principles. Good attention to detail. Ensure work is consistent with Radiological and general safety procedures and practices. Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload. Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
