
Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to manage the general accounting and financial processes at SalonUltimate. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparation and review of financial documents, reports, statements and updating expense files and advising on general financial matters. You will handle the company’s accounting procedures and maintain a healthy financial profile ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local principles. The Staff Accountant will also carry out relevant administrative duties (e.g. responding to clients via email and handling invoices). You will ensure the company’s finances run smoothly.
The ideal candidate is an experienced accountant with superb attention to detail and who enjoys accounting.
Responsibilities
Complete monthly close procedures including soliciting data from stakeholders, bank feeds, reconciliations, and monthly journal entries
Create monthly balance sheet and P&L variance analysis (budget-actual, month over month, year over year)
Distribute financial statement reporting
Timely process and filing of monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
Prepare information for external tax accountants
Collect and match receipts to transactions
Verify Travel Expenses for employees and contractors
Review and Pay Sales Commissions
Setup vendors, collect completed W9s, setup vendors in Quickbooks
Make sure bills are paid in a timely manner after approval
Coordinate accounting with international accountants
Manage accounts payable and vendor files
Work with billing team on customer analysis (SaaS KPIs)
Develop written standard operating procedures to set the company on a path for growth
Self-starter with attention to detail
Experienced with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel
Experienced filing state sales taxes
Works well with a global team
Available at least 3 days per week to work in our north Austin, TX office
5+ years of experience in an accounting function
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
Preferred Experience
SaaS experience
Full cycle accounting experience
Experience working with Bill.com
Knows how to show financial information in charts and graphs (Excel and PowerPoint)
