Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare.

As a Health Insurance Specialist, referred here as a Technical Advisor (Policy), GS-0107-14, you will provide technical direction and leadership to staff to develop innovative research strategies and implement complex data analytical efforts relating to drug rebates.

Duties

Help

Provide technical expertise, guidance, and support on drug rebate and negotiation policies related to the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022.
Provide expert guidance to supervisors and staff for research, analysis and advancement of policies and regulations related to Medicare Part B and D and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Serve as a leader on multi-disciplianry teams, leading and providing guidance and recommend new and amended national policies related to complex rules that will assist decision makers.
Provide project and technical direction to staff where individual team member's task assignments are defined, reviews profress and work products for technical accuracy.

In order to qualify for the Technical Advisor (Policy) GS-14 position , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:

1) Providing operational and technical direction in implementing Medicare healthcare programs, including the Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Program;

2) Developing and leading assessments of the cost, use, or outcomes of healthcare programs, items, or services, such as prescription drugs; and

3) Providing recommendations and conclusions to leadership based on analysis of healthcare programs or services, such as prescription drugs.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade:

To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
