Office Assistant
The City of Pueblo is looking for candidates with strong clerical and customer service skills to be out next Office Assistant! As an Office Assistant, you'll provide reception/ front counter, explain procedures to citizens, and accepting documents. You'll also answer a multi-line telephone and direct callers to the appropriate party and learn, interpret, and explain City of Pueblo and department policies and procedures. Additionally, you'll use a computer system to prepare letters, reports, and other correspondence, enter data into spreadsheets and scan and archive documentation.

Qualifications
A high school diploma, GED, or higher education;
A valid driver's license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of employment
License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license and;
At least one (1) year of successful demonstrated experience in a fast-paced customer service work environment using computers and computer-related equipment and includes multi-tasking, significant public contact, and multi-line telephone communications.
Depending on assignment, illegal drug usage, as described below, at the time of application may be cause for disqualification:
Any use of marijuana within 2 years prior to the date of application;
Any usage of any illegal drugs other than marijuana (i.e. heroin, cocaine, LSD, amphetamines, steroids, or other illegal drug as defined in schedules I through V of Section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act) within two (2) years prior to the date of application.
Depending on assignment, candidates must be willing to submit to the following requirements:

Psychological examination
Drug screening
Physical examination
Tattoos and other markings, as described below, will be cause for disqualification for positions in the Pueblo Police Department:
Any tattoos, or other markings on the head, scalp, face, ears, neck (above the collarbone), or hands (wrist to fingertips).
Permanent cosmetic make-up on the face or one permanent commitment band on the finger are exempt from this policy
Current Police Department employees hired prior to July 1, 2025, will be exempt from this disqualification
