Billing Coordinator
The Billing Coordinator manages the daily physician billing process to ensure accurate and timely billing while serving as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and internal teams. This role reviews and submits billing documentation, maintains current knowledge of insurance and payer requirements, and supports a rapidly growing organization with opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
Manage the daily physician billing process to ensure all charges are accurate, complete, and submitted in a timely manner.
Serve as a liaison for billing-related questions from patients, physicians, and internal stakeholders, providing clear and helpful information.
Review billing documentation for accuracy, including verification and validation of CPT and ICD codes.
Match billing information with patient demographics and insurance details to ensure correct billing and reimbursement.
Obtain and verify payer authorizations for procedures, imaging, and monitoring services as needed.
Prepare, batch, and submit billing information to appropriate billing entities and systems.
Follow up on missing charges, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with leadership to resolve issues.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance plans, payer rules, and reimbursement requirements to support compliant billing practices.
Prepare billing quotes for international patients as needed, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Provide general administrative support, including faxing, filing, and assisting with ad hoc projects to support the billing function.
Essential Skills
Previous medical billing experience.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but strongly valued).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain insurance and billing information clearly to patients and providers.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive patient and financial information.
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with medical billing and invoicing processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding.
Experience working across multiple offices or departments.
Spanish language skills.
Comfort working within a growing organization and contributing to new or expanding units.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite, office-based role, working five days per week. You will work in a professional clinical business office environment supporting a new and growing unit, with opportunities to learn and advance as the organization expands.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
