Forklift Operator
This role operates a Raymond stand-up reach forklift to load, unload, pick, put away, consolidate, stack, and stage products and materials in a high-volume warehouse distribution center. The position is physically demanding and involves frequent case picking from multiple pallets, handling product weights ranging from approximately 10 to 60 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift, while following established safety and operational procedures.
Responsibilities
Operate a Raymond stand-up reach forklift (Pacer) to load, unload, pick, put away, consolidate, stack, and stage products and materials.
Perform put-aways, loading, picking, staging, and related warehouse tasks accurately and efficiently.
Case pick product from multiple pallets, handling cases weighing approximately 10 to 60 pounds throughout the shift.
Follow specific work instructions and best practices to safely and accurately complete daily work assignments.
Support all operational processes and procedures to ensure value for the customer and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Assist with physical inventories and cycle counts, helping to ensure proper stock rotation and inventory accuracy.
Inspect each pallet and case for proper quantities, item numbers, brands, and lot codes before movement or staging.
Learn and use RF systems to complete warehouse tasks and maintain accurate records.
Complete basic paperwork using math and reading skills as required by daily operations.
Communicate problems, concerns, and improvement ideas to management and help identify process enhancements.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct all operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Participate in all assigned training programs and adhere to all guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Be open to cross-training and perform case picking as needed, supporting different functions based on operational demand.
Perform other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Essential Skills
Proven ability to operate a Raymond stand-up reach forklift (Pacer) safely and efficiently.
Experience with stand-up reach forklift operations in a warehouse or distribution environment.
Ability to meet medium-level physical exertion requirements, including frequently lifting up to 50 pounds and handling cases up to approximately 60 pounds.
Ability to learn and operate RF systems in a logistics or warehouse environment.
Basic math skills to perform counts, verify quantities, and complete required paperwork.
Basic reading skills to follow written work instructions, labels, and documentation.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately and consistently.
Willingness to be cross-trained and perform case picking when needed.
Strong focus on safety, with the ability to follow best practices and operational guidelines.
Attention to detail when inspecting pallets and cases for correct quantities, items, brands, and lot codes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior experience working in a warehouse distribution center environment.
Familiarity with inventory processes such as physical inventories and cycle counts.
Comfort working in a labor-intensive role with repetitive lifting and movement.
Ability to identify and communicate process improvement opportunities.
Flexibility to support various warehouse tasks and ad hoc projects as operational needs arise.
