
Data Migration Consultant

Insight Global is seeking a Data migration consultant (with Architecture experience) to support a targeted data modernization initiative for a professional services client. This is a hands-on, client-facing role where the individual will serve as the primary U.S.-based technical lead within a small pod, helping migrate data from legacy systems to a modern cloud architecture built on Azure and Databricks. The ideal candidate is deeply technical in Python and SQL, comfortable making and explaining architecture decisions, and capable of guiding data engineers/developers through design reviews and technical oversight without heavy people management. This role sits squarely between architecture and execution and is well-suited for someone who can lead technically, communicate confidently with stakeholders, and thrive in a cost-conscious, fast-moving environment.

Expert in SQL for data modeling, querying, and client discussions
Hands on experience with data bricks and python (could be in the past)
Experience supporting data modernization and cloud migration
Cloud experience in production environments (Azure/AWS/Databricks)
Ability to operate as a client-facing Data Architect (does not need to be a data architect)
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architecture decisions and technical trade-offs
Client facing experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Prior Oracle experience
Devops/CICD
Working with cross functional teams
Strong cloud native architecture background
