Position & Facility OverviewJoin a high-acuity, fast-paced Emergency Department at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, a Level III Trauma Center managing approximately 50,000 annual visits. This 33-bed ED, equipped with three dedicated trauma bays, provides an ideal environment for Physician Assistants to practice at the top of their license alongside experienced emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians.
You will work within a collaborative, well-supported model that includes strong physician coverage, dedicated APC staffing, and scribe support-allowing you to focus on delivering efficient, high-quality patient care.
Emergency Department Highlights- 50,000 annual ED visits
- Level III Trauma Center
- 33-bed Emergency Department with 3 trauma bays
- 37 hours/day physician coverage
- 36 hours/day NP/PA coverage
- Scribe support provided
- Specialty care rooms (ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, etc.)
- Advanced trauma capabilities + 13 cardiac-monitor beds

Role & Responsibilities- Perform medical screening exams, assessments, and treatment of ED patients
- Manage a broad spectrum of cases, from low acuity to high complexity (within scope)
- Collaborate closely with supervising physicians on higher-acuity presentations
- Execute procedures consistent with EM PA scope of practice
- Utilize EMR and scribe resources to optimize workflow efficiency
- Ensure timely documentation and adherence to quality metrics
