**Job Title: Quality Clerk**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Clerk to join our team. This role involves working in a manufacturing shop floor environment, collaborating with quality, engineering, and operations teams. The position requires a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and advanced inspection concepts, along with proficiency in using various measurement devices.
**Responsibilities**
+ Maintain and prepare inspection and shipping documentation.
+ **Must have experience with JOBBOSS or EPICOR software.**
+ Perform checks to ensure all documents used for quality inspection are complete and accurate.
+ Conduct general administrative duties by providing quality documents to customers.
+ Organize and file documents used for product (job folders).
+ Ensure customers receive all necessary shipping documentation such as packing lists, Certificates of Conformance, inspection reports, material certifications, and blueprints.
+ Communicate concerns regarding shipping documentation with customers, including details about outgoing shipments.
+ Maintain all device history records (DHR).
+ Manage overall gage calibration process.
+ Maintain gage list, report internally when tools are due for collection, and provide gages to the shop floor and inspection laboratory.
+ Collaborate with third-party calibration technician/company to manage gage calibration services, status, quotes, and tracking of all gages.
+ Collect, track, and report all calibration in software, designating new due dates.
+ Escalate out-of-tolerance gages for evaluation.
+ Collect Material Review Board (MRB) data and assign appropriate locations.
+ Take direction from supervisors, comprehend, and perform duties as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
+ Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards to ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees.
+ Suggest and support implementation of ideas to improve safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery.
+ Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, and work overtime as required.
+ Perform and practice lean processes and other duties as assigned.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in a manufacturing shop floor environment working with quality, engineering, and operations.
+ Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and advanced inspection concepts.
+ Proficiency in using measurement devices such as optical comparators, dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, threaded and straight plug gages, pitch micrometers, CMM, etc.
+ Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
+ Strong computer software aptitude, including ERP, QMS, and customer software.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
+ Critical thinking and advanced decision-making skills.
+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize geometry and assemblies.
+ Ability to read, comprehend, follow, and document work instructions, blueprints, routers, and standard operating procedures.
+ Collaborative skills to assist team members and participate effectively in meetings.
+ Ability to interact effectively, professionally, and constructively.
+ Experience in an ISO/FDA manufacturing facility preferred.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience with calipers, micrometers, and tight tolerances.
+ Knowledge of quality inspection and document review.
+ Familiarity with SAP ERP, JobBoss software, and Epicor software.
+ Skills in inventory, cost accounting, project management, and data entry.

**Work Environment**
Training will initially be on days, transitioning to the 2nd shift, which runs from 3 PM to 1:30 AM, including Fridays. The work environment is moderate in noise, located entirely within a manufacturing plant. Employees are required to wear protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection, and comply with 5S and safe work practices.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, AL.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
