Workday HCM Solution Architect (AMS + Security Focus)

Role Overview
We are seeking a Workday HCM Solution Architect who will lead AMS (Application Management Support) while owning solution architecture and security design.
This is not a pure support role — the candidate must combine:
Architectural ownership
Strong Workday Security expertise
AMS leadership (stabilization, governance, continuous improvement)
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Ownership
Own end-to-end Workday HCM architecture across Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, and Talent.
Define and govern solution design standards and best practices.
Ensure alignment with global HR strategy and compliance requirements.
AMS Leadership (Core Part of Role)
Act as AMS lead for Workday HCM modules.
Manage production support, issue resolution, and system stabilization.
Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and drive permanent fixes.
Review and govern change requests, enhancements, and release readiness.
Monitor KPIs (incident volume, SLA adherence, backlog) and drive improvements.
Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB).
Workday Security (Must-Have)
Own Workday security architecture and governance, including:
Security groups (role-based, user-based)
Domain & business process security policies
Segregation of Duties (SoD)
Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
Ensure data privacy and regulatory compliance across regions.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with HR, IT, and Security teams to prioritize enhancements.
Work with Integration/Technical Architects on dependencies (Payroll, Recruiting, downstream systems).
Act as a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders.
Global & Transformation Initiatives
Support new country rollouts and localization (US, UK, Mexico, India preferred).
Drive continuous improvement, automation, and HR transformation initiatives.
Validate and recommend adoption of new Workday releases/features.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, IT, Business, or related field.
10+ years of Workday / HRIS experience with Architect-level responsibility.
Strong experience in AMS environments (production support + governance).
Deep expertise in Workday Security (mandatory).
Hands-on experience across:
Core HCM, Compensation (Core & Advanced), Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent, Payroll
Workday Certifications (minimum 2 modules).
Proven experience leading large-scale implementations or AMS transformations.
Strong ability to drive architecture decisions and stakeholder alignment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with global Workday deployments and localization.
Strong knowledge of Workday reporting and analytics.
Familiarity with JIRA, ServiceNow.
Strong project and change management skills.
