Position Overview
Seeking an experienced
Development Specialist
to lead fundraising initiatives in support of its mission:
“That All May Read.”
This role focuses on building strong relationships with donors, corporations, and grant-making institutions to secure funding and expand outreach for individuals with print disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design and execute comprehensive
fundraising strategies and campaigns
Identify, research, and engage
new donors and funding sources
Build and manage a
donor database
(tracking contributions, relationships, and engagement)
Develop and maintain relationships with
high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and foundations
Write compelling
grant proposals, donor communications, and reports
Monitor fundraising performance and adjust strategies based on data insights
Organize donor engagement activities (events, meetings, tours)
Collaborate with leadership and the
clients
board
Ensure consistent branding and messaging across fundraising initiatives
Prepare
annual reports, impact stories, and marketing materials
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong experience in
fundraising and donor relations
Proven ability to meet or exceed fundraising targets
Knowledge of
fundraising strategies and donor engagement
Understanding of
accounting practices for recordkeeping
Excellent
written and verbal communication skills
Strong
time management and multitasking abilities
Ability to build and maintain
community connections and relationships
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with
donor management software (CRM tools)
Knowledge of
estate planning and tax laws related to charitable giving
Experience working with
nonprofits or public sector organizations
Work Conditions
Mostly remote, with occasional on-site presence required
Flexible schedule (10 hours/week between 8 AM – 5 PM)
