ABOUT THE POSITION
The
Associate Director, Performance Marketing
is a senior individual contributor and emerging team leader who owns the strategic direction of paid media across multi-location and franchise accounts This role bridges high-level client strategy with hands-on campaign execution, translating complex business goals into integrated, performance-driven media programs across digital and traditional channels.
The
Associate Director, Performance Marketing
brings deep expertise across paid media buying platforms, a strong command of data and analytics, and the ability to independently lead client relationships at senior levels. This role mentors and guides junior and mid-level team members, contributes to agency process improvements, and plays a key role in new business development and account growth. The
Associate Director
reports to the Director of Performance Marketing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and own full-funnel, cross-channel media buying strategies for a portfolio of clients in the home services and fitness industries, aligning paid media investment to business objectives, KPI frameworks, and growth targets
Lead the development of sophisticated media plans, investment scenarios, and channel mix recommendations using platforms such as AdScience and first- and third-party data
Oversee execution, pacing, and optimization of paid campaigns across search, social, programmatic, video, and emerging platforms, managing multi-million dollar budgets with disciplined reallocation to maximize ROI
Drive continuous performance improvement through rigorous testing, audience segmentation, creative iteration, and attribution modeling, connecting media outcomes directly to client revenue
Serve as the senior media point of contact for assigned accounts, leading QBRs, executive presentations, and proactive growth conversations with director- and C-suite-level stakeholders
Identify account expansion opportunities and lead data-driven upsell and scope proposals in partnership with account and strategy teams
Mentor junior and mid-level media team members and contribute to internal process development, playbooks, and quality standards
Stay current on industry trends, platform innovations, and measurement advancements to drive agency competitiveness
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
6–7 years of progressive experience in integrated media planning and buying, paid media, or performance marketing, ideally within an agency environment
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications a plus
Expert-level proficiency managing campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, programmatic platforms, and other paid digital and traditional channels
Advanced analytical skills including attribution modeling, incrementality testing, and the ability to connect media performance directly to client revenue and business outcomes
Proven track record independently managing and growing senior client relationships, with confidence presenting to director- and C-suite-level stakeholders
Experience communicating effectively and mentoring junior and mid-level team members as they develop in their careers
Strong command of media research, planning, and measurement platforms
Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple client portfolios, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
