
Cyber Security Intern

Position Summary
The Cybersecurity Intern will support enterprise information security operations during a summer internship, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The role provides hands-on exposure to Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, cybersecurity tooling, and global security initiatives. The intern will assist with monitoring and alert review, participate in cybersecurity tool implementation projects, and collaborate with international teams in France and Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
Review and monitor security alerts and events within the SOC monitoring portal
Perform initial alert triage, identify false positives, and escalate potential security incidents per documented procedures
Document findings and actions accurately within security tracking and ticketing systems
Support cybersecurity tool implementation and enhancement projects (e.g., deployment support, validation, documentation, testing)
Assist with log review and security data analysis across endpoint, network, and cloud security tools
Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT stakeholders, including teams based in France and Malaysia, to support global security initiatives
Participate in security operations reviews, project meetings, and mentoring sessions with the CISO
Adhere strictly to security policies, confidentiality requirements, and data protection standards
Required Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., phishing, malware, endpoint security, security alerts)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SOC tools, SIEM platforms, or security monitoring dashboards
Exposure to log analysis, security alerting, or threat detection concepts
Experience working on technical or IT-related projects
Interest in global cybersecurity operations and cross-regional collaboration
