License: Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology
Certifications: American Society for Clinical Pathology - Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
Must-Have:
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Healthy enough to safely function in a low oxygen environment (8k elevation).
Description:
The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens in all sections of the Clinical Laboratory.
The position requires independent judgment when evaluating the validity of test results prior to reporting.
Operates and calibrates all equipment in the area of specialization.
Evaluates the validity of laboratory data and records test results.
Communicates with physicians and nursing staff regarding test procedures and results.
Experience with EPIC, Vitros, Unity, and WellSky preferred.
ASCP Specialty certifications preferred.
Housing options in surrounding areas should be considered, as housing can be costly.
