Role Overview
We are seeking a Modern Data Engineer to join our Analytics, Engineering, and Architecture team. In this role, you will support the expansion of our analytics platform as we pivot to cloud technologies. You will be responsible for building data pipelines, sourcing data, and helping team members adopt and understand new platform standards within a regulated, production-critical enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Build, operate, and optimize batch and streaming data pipelines.
Work with relational databases, data lakes, and NoSQL systems.
Transform raw data into curated, reusable datasets for analysis.
Support analytics and reporting initiatives using Power BI.
Design star schemas, dimensional models, and build silver/gold medallion layers.
Collaborate with engineers and business managers to communicate what is being built and align on requirements.
Utilize CI/CD and Git-based workflows for data pipelines.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years working with data in a software or data engineering capacity within enterprise environments that include a mix of on-premise and cloud technologies.
Technical Skills:
Strong SQL skills, including data profiling and data modeling.
Hands-on experience with Data Lakehouses.
Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines using ADF or similar tools.
Experience with Power BI dashboarding and reporting.
Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or an equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Data architecture experience in Databricks. Experience with Snowflake or Palantir is also acceptable.
Experience using AI tools or copilots to assist with data engineering tasks (e.g., SQL development, pipeline generation, testing).
Familiarity with automation or AI agents to streamline engineering workflows.
