Salary Range: $160,000.00 To $180,000.00 Annually
As a Senior Project Engineer in San Diego, CA you will have an opportunity to serve our client base in the Southern California area. Requirements
Qualified candidates will have a BSCE degree, CA Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer, plus a minimum of fifteen (15) years of directly relevant experience; or the equivalent work experience of eighteen (18) years in this industry.
Local San Diego County experience as well as California experience preferred.
Candidates must possess the ability to sustain positive business relationships, obtain new work, and to market services provided by the company.
Candidates shall be active and have continuous involvement in community and professional societies and organizations.
Independent thought and decision-making abilities and excellent communication skills
A minimum of five years management experience supervising the work of technical staff required
Ability to provide exceptional customer service and foster client relationships
Possess demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
Exhibit management ability
Team player
Adept in establishing and maintaining strong and positive working relationships with clients/public-agency personnel and in-house staff
Managerial experience will include the following:
Management of construction bid documents and contracts
Management of construction support and field coordination
Management of project schedules and budgets
Preparation of contracts, write comprehensive fee proposals and scopes of work for both private land development projects as well as collaborate on public works pursuits
Significant experience in client and private and public-agency interactions
Technical experience will include the following:
Ability to perform conceptual and preliminary engineering design studies (incorporating land use and zoning considerations, assessment and consideration of site constraints, infrastructure requirements, and potential regulatory issues)
Preparation/processing of regulatory plans
Preparation/processing of public improvement plans (private offsite work and public works)
Ability to perform constructability reviews
Experience with a range of construction support services
Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures in California and the San Diego region is strongly preferred. Ownership opportunity potential.
AutoCAD/Civil 3D experience is required.
Additional Skills:
Applies engineering principles, techniques, and procedures to design
Possesses working knowledge of business and management principles associated with strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production procedures, interview and hiring methods and the coordination of people
Accepts and carries out responsibility for the design team's direction, control and planning; sets realistic goals and makes plans independently
Exhibits a thorough understanding of jurisdictional processing
Demonstrates a high level of leadership & management ability; accepts and responds appropriately to constructive feedback with others and applies seasoned time management
Providing mentoring and training of junior engineers and designers
Relates well and maintains a high level of respect and confidence from co‑workers, public agencies
Demonstrates a high level of competence in written and oral communication
Possesses knowledge of CAD and its capabilities for preparing exhibits, studies and/or final plan
