Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.

Key Job Responsibilities

Decompose system level requirements into realizable hardware requirements.

Design and develop a solution that meets these requirements.

Design, develop, and optimize electrical hardware for use in space.

Simulate and optimize EE circuits, perform schematic capture, and oversee layout.

Build up test bench for design verification.

Evaluate and optimize design in the lab to demonstrate design meets system requirements.

Work with RF system, power, software, mechanical thermal, reliability and compliance teams to ensure solution integrates with overall platform requirements.

Export Control Requirement: due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

About the Team
You will regularly interact with other engineers to realize microwave hardware designs that will fly in space. This requires the ability to work well with others in a highly cross‑functional organization to drive product definition, design, optimization, implementation and test.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience with prototyping and implementation.

4+ years of experience in electrical circuit design, such as RF biases, MCUs, re‑scalers, LDOs, power sequencers, motor drivers, monitor and control, digital interfaces, etc. In‑depth knowledge of electrical architectures.

2+ years of experience with board bring‑up and design verification test using EE lab equipment such as power supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.

Experience in analog electrical circuit design.

Experience in bias circuits design for RF amplifiers.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.

Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.

Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering.

Experience with designing for airborne or space applications.

Experience with complex board designs, such as high‑speed interconnects, high‑reliability designs, avionics, vehicle control systems, and/or motor & actuator control electronics.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
