Structural Analysis Engineer Lead and Senior (Level 4 and Level 5)
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) organization is seeking an Structural Analysis Engineer Lead and Senior (Level 4 and Level 5) to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Executive Transport, Airborne Warning and Control Systems (AWACS), Bombers (B-1 and/or B-52), and/or Airborne Early warning and Control (AEW&C) programs.

Position Responsibilities: (Level 4)

Leads development, integration and documentation of structural requirements to establish the system design.

Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

Leads development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Supports in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements.

Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Works under minimal direction.

Position Responsibilities: (Level 5)

Plans and organizes structural analysis work at the program level to assure total compliance with structural integrity and stability requirements.

Develops, integrates and documents complex or unique structural requirements to establish the system design.

Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

Mentors, trains, and teaches younger analysts on stress methodologies

Is considered a subject matter expert, and has deep comprehension of industry methods in structural analysts

Verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the airframe structural environment, characteristics, and performance of the product

Develops and uses Finite Element Models

Understands proper application of loads in FEMs

Understands industry best practices in airframe primary structure and loadpaths

Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by defining requirements for development of analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance of the product.

Works with customers and regulatory agencies to define certification processes that will ensure requirements are met.

Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the analysis and repair efforts

Ensures compliance with methodology and processes for stress analysis, DaDT analysis, and finite element modelling in the accomplishment of work

Reviews and approves certification results.

Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Defines and organizes test programs to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort.

Investigates emerging technologies to develop future product designs to meet projected requirements.

Works under consultative direction.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

Experience with Classical Hand Analysis Methods

Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM)

Able to independently construct, execute, review, and manage structural finite element models

10 or more years of experience in structural analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

15 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Active U.S. Secret Clearance

Experience with Hypermesh, Abaqus CAE, and/or Nastran

Experience validating or verifying finite element model results

Experience with FAA and/or Mil Certification

Strong written, verbal communications and presentation skills

Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures (e.g., fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, and repair techniques)

Experience with Aircraft Primary Structures on Boeing Commercial Derivatives – Commercial and/or Military applications (737, 747, 757, 767 & 777)

Summary pay range:

Level 4: $118,150 – 159,850

Level 5: $143,650 – 194,350

If you have an engineering degree from an ABET accredited college and are not currently working in the aerospace sector in Oklahoma, you may qualify for a $5000 tax credit from the state of Oklahoma for up to five years.
