Summary
Celestica is excited to welcome a Global Commodity Manager to our dynamic team! This pivotal role guides team leaders and professionals across various functions, driving our mission forward with enthusiasm and innovation. The role involves developing strategic plans, crafting policies, and guiding budgeting processes to minimize costs. Supervising a dedicated team, coordinating departmental activities, making hiring and performance decisions, and building cross‑functional relationships are key responsibilities. Success will also depend on building strong relationships with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Maintain global and/or regional responsibility for strategic high‑dollar semiconductor or equivalent commodity price/value determination, product and/or service negotiations, terms, and conditions.

Develop and implement a procurement strategy for the commodities managed, including technology direction, supplier analysis, development and selection, and pricing strategy.

Act as primary interface with Celestica’s suppliers for relationship management, contract negotiation, transaction framework, performance reviews, business development, and supplier awards programs.

Source all products and services, maintaining continuity of supply while delivering the lowest‑cost solution.

Provide global sites direction and performance reporting for cost analysis to senior management.

Lead negotiations for commodities managed, providing guidance on strategy, planning, developing commodity strategy, and communicating a consistent message to suppliers.

Interact and negotiate frequently with senior executives of industry‑leading multi‑national companies.

Manage the Global Commodity Negotiation process, ensuring accurate forecasting and pricing accuracy.

Manage data flow for pricing fluctuations, market analytics, and development and maintenance of Commodity Management system applications.

Conduct strategic analysis on pricing, market, suppliers, customers, competitors, contracts, and long‑term agreements.

Act as site liaison to manage critical shortages, develop constrained commodity strategies, and represent site in system changes affecting purchasing execution.

Drive process improvement, lead IT tool development, define business processes, and implement new tools and processes.

Perform bid activity for sensitive/high‑visibility complex bids.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum 7 years of Commodity Management experience; experience in managing high‑dollar semiconductor or equivalent electronics components highly advantageous.

Strong knowledge of marketplace conditions for high‑dollar semiconductor or equivalent electronics.

Good understanding of global business environment, supplier business, organization, products, and processes.

Strong knowledge of office systems and analytical tools.

Ability to lead complex negotiations effectively.

Ability to work effectively across internal functions to achieve Celestica’s goals.

Problem‑solving ability to prioritize and complete a variety of tasks timely and accurately.

Effective verbal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Commerce or Engineering), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Educational requirements may vary by geography.

Physical Demands
Duties are performed in a typical office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry) are frequently required. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Typical Experience
Seven to ten years relevant experience.

Compensation Data
Salary range: $122,000 to $168,000 USD.
