Role Summary
The Pfizer Patient Services (PPS) Oncology Business Unit Support role is responsible for the development of patient services strategy and programmatic design for Pfizer’s upcoming launch products in Oncology. The Director is responsible for establishing the patient services program strategy for elements across the patient journey, including:
Overall program strategy and design
Co-pay / affordability support
Hub support / operations
External landscape monitoring
Program performance management
This role will sit within the PPS Oncology BU Strategy team and will be accountable for ensuring close alignment with Business Unit and Product launch strategies. This role will ensure Oncology patient services programs are rooted in comprehensive understanding of the patient journey and patient’s experiences taking Pfizer’s upcoming Oncology treatments.
Role Responsibilities
The position is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for patient services programs in new product launches for Pfizer’s Oncology Business Unit. The Director will:
Represent PPS as the subject matter expert for Oncology product launch teams
Lead development of pre‑and post‑launch plans, execute, and operationalize patient support programs through key frameworks, processes, and best practices
Serve as the interface for Patient Services teams and product launch partners, ensuring programs meet patient/healthcare provider needs and align with product launch strategies
Support creation and implementation of tools that simplify and accelerate launch preparation
Ensure program launch includes monitoring, auditing and quality assurance of patient support programs and services
Track brand needs, economics, strategies, timelines, and priorities while staying abreast of therapeutic area trends
Identify, evaluate and manage cost‑effective vendor solutions
Manage and optimize PPS spend at the brand-level
Facilitate integration of PPS leadership strategies and performance in marketing plans, therapeutic area planning documents, and executive updates
Establish strong internal and external relationships with PPS, the Business Unit, broader Global Access and Value functions, US Market Access, and enabling functions (e.g., Digital, Analytics, Chief Commercial Office)
Be part of a high‑performing team of professionals responsible for designing and executing patient support programs for the brand
Ensure program operating procedures align with legal, regulatory and compliance standards
Basic Qualifications
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities, including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues, and achieve meaningful outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred
8+ years’ experience in Biopharma Patient Services Strategy/Operations/Program Management, Strategy/Management Consulting, or related area required
Experience supporting product launches in Oncology; understanding of buy‑and‑bill product requirements preferred
Strong enterprise thinking, strategic planning, and financial acumen with a data‑driven mindset and ability to connect organizational goals to BU‑specific strategies
Extensive cross‑functional leadership and stakeholder management experience
Depth in portfolio strategy with proven ability to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and guide decision‑making at scale
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with prior experience presenting to functional leaders
Ability to receive and implement direction from senior colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact
Commitment to receiving development and coaching from leadership

This position is hybrid and requires working onsite 2 to 3 days per week
Benefits and Compensation
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. The position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share‑based long‑term incentive program. Pfizer offers comprehensive benefits including 401(k) plan with matching contributions, additional retirement savings contribution, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits (medical, prescription drug, dental, vision).
