Job Summary
Senior Geologist—responsible for managing Agricultural Voluntary Investigation Cleanup (AgVIC) projects, preparing proposals and reports, reviewing deliverables for accuracy, and developing client relationships. Serves as the local point of contact for environmental services and supports regional and national projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Grow and expand environmental services focused on AgVIC and due diligence (Phase I & Phase II ESA).
Prepare applications, plans, reports, proposals, and other deliverables.
Manage projects and staff to ensure quality and timeliness.
Understand local and regional markets and develop strong client relationships.
Respond to RFPs and client requests with proposals.
Participate in local and regional marketing strategy development.
Support safety initiatives and promote safety rules and guidelines.
Evaluate problems and develop practical solutions to help clients achieve compliance with environmental regulations.
Maintain regulatory compliance records, permits, and reporting.
Provide technical support and assistance with regulatory and compliance strategy implementation.
Stay current on state and federal environmental regulations and industry best practices.
Develop risk management strategies and conduct internal reviews and audits.
Mentor and support team members, promoting effective teamwork and project delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
Does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may mentor and provide guidance to field engineers, scientists, technicians, and junior staff.
Required Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in geological engineering, geology, or related environmental discipline.
Minimum 8+ years of environmental consulting experience, including AgVIC and Phase I & Phase II ESA.
Strong technical writing ability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of Minnesota Pollution Control Agency guidance and best practices.
Valid driver’s license.
Analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including presentations to senior management and partners.
Preferred Skills
Professional Geologist (PG) certification.
Stormwater/SWPPP licensing.
SPCC planning certification.
Oil and gas (retail, bulk storage, pipeline) expertise.
Minnesota DOT corridor due diligence experience.
Soil vapor sampling and mitigation experience.
Environmental remediation technologies and system design.
Knowledge of Wisconsin DNR guidance.
Pay Transparency

Primarily office‑based with occasional field work.
