The Americas Analytics Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) role within MSCI’s Coverage team contributes to the success of new sales, upsales, and associated revenue generation within the MSCI Analytics segment. This role drive sales and upsales during the benefits positioning stage of the sales cycle with successful team members generating and delivering analytical output to prospects and clients. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring MSCI’s prospects and clients realize the value of the full suite of analytic offerings focusing on functional positioning, product differentiation and a client driven pitch - a prerequisite to shorten the sales cycle and influence commercial negotiations. The team is focused on showcasing MSCI’s strengths and growth areas via multiple channels including internal applications and services, APIs, and 3rd party platforms. Engage prospective clients to deeply understand their investment strategies, workflows, and use cases — translating that insight into compelling, tailored demos, POCs, and trials

Analyze prospect- and client-supplied single portfolio and multi-asset class portfolio and market data to build targeted, evidence-based engagement narratives that accelerate conviction and shorten the sales cycle

Deliver high-impact application demos and present analytical results directly to senior investment, risk, and operations stakeholders at prospective client firms

Leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to enhance demo preparation, automate data analysis, personalize client pitches, and identify upsell signals across the prospect pipeline

Serve as a connective layer between Sales, Product, and Research — ensuring the presales experience is seamless, consistent, and commercially focused

Proactively surface prospect and client insights to internal product and research teams, functioning as a feedback loop that shapes roadmap priorities and solution enhancements

Guide prospects through trial phases with structured onboarding, methodology education, and use-case-driven training — ensuring they extract meaningful value from MSCI's tools before a commercial decision is made

Identify, design, and POC creative workaround or custom solutions that bridge gaps between existing product capabilities and specific client requirements

Analyzing portfolio risk and performance, generating reports, crafting presentations, and providing commentaries to help position the benefits of MSCI tools

Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Finance or similar subjects

Post graduate qualification in Finance (M.Sc./M.B.A./P.G.D.M./Ph.D)

5–10 years of experience in a client-facing presales, solutions consulting, or technical sales role within asset management, private markets, financial services, or fintech

Experience and understanding of Equity and/or Multi Asset Class factor models

Knowledge of derivatives, credit and rate products

Hands-on experience working with or selling through data APIs, analytics platforms, or SaaS-based financial applications

Additional qualifications in CFA (US) and/or FRM would be a plus

Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., generative AI, LLM-based assistants, AI-powered analytics) in a professional context — with the ability to apply them to client engagement, data analysis, presentation development, or workflow automation.

Familiar with different risk measures and quantitative risk models

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Programming experience desired (Excel Macro/VBA, XML familiarity, Python, SQL/Snowflake)

Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects under tight, short-term deadlines while managing client expectations.
