RF De-sense Engineer, Ring

Amazon, San Francisco, CA, United States

Ring is seeking a RF De-sense Engineer to join our Connectivity RF team. This role is critical to ensuring industry-leading wireless performance by identifying, debugging, and resolving RF de-sense, EMI, and coexistence issues across Ring products. You will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and collaborate closely with RF, system, baseband, antenna, mechanical, and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail-oriented, and capable of owning complex RF de-sense challenges from early architecture through mass production.

Key Job Responsibilities

Own RF de-sense, EMI, and wireless coexistence analysis across WiFi, BT, GNSS, LTE, and other radios.

Drive system-level architecture reviews with a focus on noise mitigation, grounding, shielding, and layout best practices.

Perform RF de-sense and EMI simulation and analysis using CST Studio Suite to predict noise coupling paths, validate mitigation concepts, and correlate simulation results with lab measurements.

Identify, debug, and resolve de-sense root causes related to digital noise, power integrity, clocks, interfaces, and mechanical structures.

Work closely with RF HW, antenna, baseband, power, and mechanical teams to implement effective mitigation solutions.

Define de-sense validation strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria for EVT / DVT / PVT / MP stages.

Perform hands‑on RF and EMI testing, data analysis, and performance optimization.

Support second‑source component qualification from a de‑sense and EMI perspective.

Act as the technical owner for de‑sense issues, coordinating internal engineering teams and driving closure.

Provide production line support and on‑site debugging when required.

A day in the life
You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for RF hardware design activities and ODM activities.

About the Team
The RF team is part of the Product Engineering team in Asia, covering system design and validation. We expect this role to become the DRI of RF design and validation, and eventually an RF expert for emerging technology.

Basic Qualifications

4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

Experience with prototyping and implementation.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.

Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.
