Stowe Electric Department (SED) is seeking an experienced
Manager of Legal & Regulatory Affairs
to lead the SED's legal, regulatory, and policy activities. Reporting to the General Manager, this senior role serves as a key advisor to leadership and the Board, ensuring compliance, guiding regulatory strategy, and representing SED before state, federal, and municipal bodies.
Responsibilities
Lead regulatory proceedings, filings, and compliance with the Vermont Public Utility Commission, ISO-NE, FERC, and other agencies
Advise leadership and the Board on legal, regulatory, and policy matters
Oversee Integrated Resource Planning, Renewable Energy Standard compliance, and Tier 3 programs
Manage grant applications, awards, and compliance for state and federal funding
Coordinate with outside counsel, consultants, and industry partners
Qualifications
J.D. and Vermont bar admission preferred (or equivalent experience/education)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in utility regulation, energy policy, or related legal work
Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
Experience with regulatory filings, planning, and public-sector compliance
$100,000–$125,000 with generous benefits.
