Event Services Manager
Effective and proactive management of the Events Department, including support and guidance to the banquet, catering, convention services, and banquet beverage teams, ensuring successful events for a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

Supports and manages the Events Department in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Director and other hotel departments. Leadership responsibilities include Convention Services set‑up and banquet beverage.

Supervises, empowers, leads, coaches, and motivates the banquet team—including captains, food servers, and lead house attendants—toward exceptional guest service and associate engagement.

Assists the hotel in achieving top box service scores on Meeting Planner surveys, reviewing banquet event orders, and ensuring timely set‑up of all functions and meetings while maintaining food, beverage, and meeting specifications.

Proactively reviews staffing and equipment needs.

Coordinates and executes all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Catering/CS, CS Floor, and Beverage.

Maintains a high‑energy, positive, professional appearance.

Manages short- and long‑term banquet functions in both front‑and‑back‑of‑the‑house areas.

Creates an environment that sets and enforces the highest standards of quality service through effective hiring, training, development, promotion, and continuous reinforcement.

Handles administrative tasks such as payroll facilitation, reporting, forecasting, point‑of‑sale procedures, inventory, and budgeting for food and beverage functions.

Conducts daily walk‑throughs of the banquet department, event spaces, and storerooms to ensure compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards.

Develops ideas for special events and holiday functions.

Qualifications

Full‑time management position requiring full flexibility, including the ability to work weekends, holidays, and a varied schedule.

A true desire to understand and anticipate the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.

Refined verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in general computer knowledge.

Extremely creative, innovative, detail‑oriented, and organized.

Hotel experience and a thorough understanding of all levels of banquet service.

Previous experience as an Event Services Manager/Assistant, Event Services Captain, or Event Services Supervisor preferred.

Strengths in high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leadership, effective communication, strong development and training capabilities, and exceptional customer service.
