Job Description
A large reputable utility company in Bellevue, WA is currently hiring for a Communications Specialist. This role supports a variety of corporate communications needs, including coordinating regulatory advertising, notices, and communications; managing content calendars and coordinating content projects with creative, brand, social media, and media teams and external creative and advertising agencies. Conducts content audits and reviews. Leverages advanced AI language models to generate, refine, and optimize high‑quality web content that aligns with brand voice, SEO best practices, and content performance goals. Supports social media community management by monitoring and responding to comments, direct messages, and mentions across social media platforms. Requires strong writing, editing, and project management skills.

Responsibilities
Regulatory Communications Support

Coordinates regulatory advertising and notices with internal stakeholders and external advertising and creative agencies, including managing internal content reviews and ensuring accuracy in final designs.

Coordinates content, design, and reviews for required communications and reports, such as fuel mix, renewable energy report cards, and Service Quality Index.

Coordinates content, design, and reviews for the new customer mailing packet with internal stakeholders and creative agencies.

Reputation/Reliability/Corporate Communications Support

Manages the editorial calendar for the customer newsletter and email, develops workback schedules, and ensures adherence to timelines.

Coordinates with content contributors, design, and brand teams.

Works with the Web team to update content on the company website home page.

Coordinates reliability and community infrastructure project content opportunities, shoots, and assets.

Manages content opportunities handed off from the Operations and Projects teams.

Supports Videographer/Photographer with logistics and scheduling.

Coordinates content publishing with Social Media lead and Media team; produces content on reliability projects as needed.

Maintains a library of reliability project content for wider use.

Safety Communications

Coordinates safety content calendar with Public Safety team.

Supports wildfire prevention advertising campaign administration.

General Content Support

Coordinates the company website content reviews/audits for corporate content.

Coordinates external communications content calendar of marketing activities.

Leverages advanced AI language models to generate, refine, and optimize high‑quality web content that aligns with brand voice, SEO best practices, and content performance goals.

Social Media Community Management Support

Monitor and respond to comments, direct messages, and mentions across social media platforms in a timely, on‑brand manner.

Foster positive, inclusive community conversations and encourage meaningful engagement.

Escalate issues, customer concerns, or sensitive conversations according to guidelines.

Qualification Requirements

1‑2 years of relevant experience.

Experience working with internal stakeholders and external creative agencies.

Experience managing an editorial and content calendar.

Experience managing web content.

Social media management experience.

High preference for current or recent utility company experience or similar industry.

Comfortable submitting to a drug test (including THC) upon onboarding.

Pay range: $25.00 – $30.00/hr.
