Position description
The Kim Lab invites applicants for a Junior or Assistant Specialist to support our research program investigating mechanisms underlying transcription factor regulation of gene expression in cellular differentiation and reprogramming.
We are interested in the molecular basis of transcription factor target specificity and how these regulatory mechanisms underlie cell fate decisions.
We use high-throughput perturbation screens and targeted genetic engineering coupled with epigenomic assays in human pluripotent stem cell-based models of differentiation.
The specialist is expected to regularly present on their research progress, and to read and critically analyze scholarly articles to stay current with advancements in the field.
In addition to conducting research, the specialist will help organize and maintain the lab, and will have opportunities to train and supervise undergraduates.
Experience with molecular biology and mammalian cell culture is preferred; effective organization, communication, time management, and attention to detail are essential. The Kim Lab is devoted to mentoring and career development for all lab members.
Qualified candidates should submit a (1) curriculum vitae, including previous work and research experience, (2) cover letter that describes why they would like to join the Kim Lab specifically and how the position fits into their future career goals, and (3) contact information for three references. The position will remain open until filled.
