
Maintenance Supervisor (Boardman)

We are seeking a high-energy Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians in a high-volume food production facility. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, overseeing complex mechanical and electrical repairs, and maintaining a culture of safety and food-safety compliance (SQF/GMP).
Responsibilities
Shift Leadership:
Supervise, schedule, and mentor maintenance technicians to ensure 24/7 operational readiness.
Asset Management:
Coordinate preventative and predictive maintenance programs for high-speed processing and packaging lines.
Emergency Response:
Lead troubleshooting for critical failures in PLC systems (Allen-Bradley/Siemens), hydraulics, pneumatics, and motor controls.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with FDA, USDA, and OSHA standards, maintaining strict documentation for food safety audits.
Inventory & Budget:
Manage spare parts inventory and vendor relationships to control costs and minimize repair lead times.
Continuous Improvement:
Implement Lean or Six Sigma principles to reduce waste and improve Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
Qualifications
Experience:
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry.
Technical Expertise:
Strong proficiency in electrical systems, 3-phase power, and PLC troubleshooting.
Safety Mindset:
Expert knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred; equivalent years of experience and technical certifications will be considered.
Communication:
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical plant leadership.
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in electrical systems, 3-phase power, and PLC troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills
Expert knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection.
