Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance and Administration, with a dotted line to the Vice
President for Finance and Administration, the Director of Auxiliary Food Services and Hospitality
Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for all campus dining, catering, and hospitality
services at Queensborough Community College.
This position plays a key role in shaping the campus experience by ensuring high-quality food service
operations, exceptional hospitality standards, and effective management of auxiliary revenue-generating
activities. The Director is responsible for creating a welcoming, efficient, and service-oriented
environment that supports students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.
Key Responsibilities
The Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and continuous improvement of
campus food services and hospitality operations, including but not limited to:
Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day oversight of all dining and hospitality operations on
campus
Oversee the preparation, quality, and service delivery of all menu items to ensure consistency,
excellence, and customer satisfaction
Lead, supervise, and develop food service and hospitality staff, fostering a culture of
accountability, teamwork, and service excellence
Manage and coordinate all campus catering services, including planning, logistics, execution, and
evaluation of events
Develop strong partnerships with campus departments to support events and deliver high-quality
hospitality services that enhance campus life
Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations, including Health Department
standards, OSHA, ADA, and food safety requirements
Maintain a safe, clean, and fully compliant food service and hospitality environment through
ongoing training and monitoring
Oversee inventory control, procurement, ordering, receiving, and vendor management to ensure
operational efficiency and cost effectiveness
Manage financial operations, including cash handling, sales reconciliation, budgeting support,
and reporting
Identify opportunities to enhance auxiliary revenue streams and improve operational performance
Prepare and maintain required operational reports, performance metrics, and compliance
documentation
Collaborate with campus leadership to align hospitality services with institutional priorities and
student success initiatives
Perform related duties and special projects to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality service delivery
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in food service management, hospitality
operations, dining services, or a related field
Demonstrated leadership experience managing both dining and catering operations
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including Local, State, and Federal requirements
Proven ability to lead, train, and develop diverse teams in a service-oriented environment
Experience with budgeting, financial oversight, procurement, and inventory management
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $90,000 – $110,000, commensurate with experience
