Position Overview

The Forklift Operator / Material Handler plays a key role in daily warehouse and distribution operations. This position is responsible for safely moving materials, preparing customer orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting a clean and safe work environment. Reliability, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Work Schedule

* Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. or until all work is completed

* Rotating Saturdays: 6:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. or until all work is completed

* Full-time, non-exempt hourly position; eligible for overtime after 40 hours in a workweek

* Due to the nature of the role, occasional evening and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines and business demands. Employees will be notified in advance when such additional hours are needed and will be compensated accordingly for all overtime worked.

Key Responsibilities

* Safely operate sit-down forklifts and other material-handling equipment

* Load, unload, transport, and stack materials including angle iron, mortar, concrete products, and sandbags

* Pick, stage, wrap, and prepare customer orders for shipment

* Load and unload delivery trucks; verify incoming shipments against purchase orders

* Un-tarp flatbed trailers

* Perform cutting tasks using shear machines and cutting torches as required

* Paint materials using a spray gun when needed

* Conduct pre-use forklift inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

* Complete and submit inventory and shipping documentation accurately

* Perform general warehouse duties including sweeping, trash removal, pallet wrapping, stocking, and cleaning

* Identify and report safety hazards; follow all safety, quality, and customer service standards

Required Skills and Experience

* Minimum of 6 months of verifiable sit-down forklift experience

* Ability to safely lift and carry 50-100 pounds

* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

* Willingness to work overtime as required

* Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

* Must be at least 18 years of age
