The Nerdwallet Content team is looking for a Multimedia Producer to support a new video podcast and YouTube channel and ensure the content meets NerdWallet’s editorial standards and is aligned to our growth strategy. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end production of always-on NerdWallet podcasts and videos, ensuring high-quality content, on-time delivery, and a seamless listener experience. The person in this position will play a key role in the entire production process and they will collaborate with a small team that includes podcast hosts, strategists, creative producers, production editors, and marketing managers to align content and business needs.
You are a collaborative team player with strong project management, technical production skills (audio and video), experience matching content to business goals, excellent editorial judgment and a passion for storytelling. You are able to communicate production timelines and requirements effectively with all stakeholders. You are comfortable providing strategic guidance, coaching, and technical assistance to hosts and guests during recordings. You stay up to date on podcast, YouTube, and industry trends to source fresh ideas and adapt to market shifts. You have strong editing skills — especially, sharp editorial judgment and awareness, as well as copy editing and fact-checking skills. And you are comfortable uploading content to distribution platforms, including YouTube, Megaphone, and WordPress.
This role reports to Head of Content, Multimedia.
Where you can make an impact:
Align with stakeholders on business goals and strategy, ensure strategy is implemented in the content.
Lead the creative production by developing and managing a content calendar for recurring podcasts.
Pitch and develop innovative episode ideas that align with brand goals and editorial standards.
Write, edit, and/or fact-check compelling and engaging episode and video scripts and show notes that meet the needs of our target audience.
Monitor the production process, ensuring timely delivery of assets at every stage.
Collaborate with podcast hosts and strategists to coordinate and plan episode and video production.
Upload and distribute episode and video assets within various content management systems.
Produce multiple segments for each episode, including pull-cuts and forward-promotes.
Prepare and edit materials for interviews, videos, and episodes including booking and vetting guests.
Comprehensively edit and QC multiple versions of episode and video assets, including audio, scripts, and show notes, ensuring the content is accurate, clear and engaging to meet NerdWallet's editorial standards.
Audit systems and processes to identify areas for optimization.
Your experience:
5+ years of professional production experience in multimedia, podcast, or video production, including project management, content planning, and editing
Proven experience producing video podcasts and using performance insights to inform content decisions
Strong storytelling, writing, and editorial judgment, with attention to clarity and accuracy
Experience producing video podcasts and using performance insights to inform content decisions
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with podcasting tools, CMS platforms, and audio/video editing software (we use Riverside, Wordpress, Final Cut Pro)
Strong collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional teams
Comfort guiding hosts and guests during recordings with both technical and editorial support
Curiosity about industry trends and audience engagement strategies
Pay transparency & contract details:
The hourly rate for this position is $60-$75/hour
This is a W2 contract role
The estimated schedule for this engagement would be 40 hours per week for 6 months
