Deputy Cybersecurity Manager/Security Operations Manager

SecuriGence delivers essential technology services supporting critical national security missions. We are seeking a Deputy Cybersecurity Manager/Security Operations Manager to lead and strengthen our security posture. This role requires strong leadership and security operations experience, with a proven ability to guide technical teams through high-visibility, time‑sensitive tasks. They advise government and contractor stakeholders across a broad range of security areas, including assessments, compliance, threat hunting, and advanced operations. Success in this role requires clear communication, both written and verbal, along with the ability to mentor teams and drive daily operations as well as strategic planning and execution.
Responsibilities
Leading technical teams through highly visible, short‑suspense taskings, as well as advising senior, contract, and government personnel on a wide range of security disciplines, including, but not limited to;
Cyber Security Service Provider (CSSP) assessments
Orders tracking and compliance
Threat hunting
Purple team assessment
24x7 security operations, advanced Splunk operations, threat intelligence research, understanding threat actor techniques used to compromise systems and evade detections
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with the Government, contract managers, other contract teams, and internal team members.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills to lead teams through day‑to‑day operations and strategic project planning, development, and execution.
Lead several small teams of advanced, mid‑level, and junior security analysts to provide security operations services for the government, serving as the primary point of contact to discuss technical security operations concepts.
Perform research and develop courses of action to large complex problems with little to no oversight to locate information that is relevant to government requests, and communicate the results effectively to clients (typically interfacing with government employees who are information security professionals).
Ensure that all written communication is professional, high‑quality, free of errors, and clearly delivers relevant information that is of value to the government.
Keep projects on track and work to resolve challenges when projects encounter roadblocks.
Responsible for the Security Manager’s responsibilities when the Security Manager is not available.
Work closely with operations, engineering, insider threat, the service desk, and various customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related major with an emphasis on Security
10+ years of experience in:
Preparing and passing cybersecurity service provider assessments
Experience planning, designing, and implementing security controls and systems
DoD 8570/8140 Compliance: Must meet IAM Level III requirements (e.g., CISM or CISSP)
TS/SCI
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years of experience managing teams of 20+ personnel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail
Demonstrated leadership skills, preferably in a formal leadership role
Technical understanding of multiple security operations capabilities and concepts
Superior research and technical analysis skills
Excellent writing and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of cybersecurity topics and ability to explain them to others clearly
Proven track record of independently managing multiple research projects
Accountability, personal initiative, and integrity
Ability to take ownership, set priorities, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
Well‑developed problem‑solving and interpersonal skills
