Survey Project Manager Full Time Riverside, CA
Salary Range: $95,000.00 To $125,000.00 Annually

This position is responsible for managing clients, employees, and projects in the collection of information and execution of surveying and construction staking projects, specifically within California's standards and requirements.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Provide direction, support, and mentorship to lower-level staff members
Oversee time management and scheduling for projects
Write proposals and perform cost estimating
Ensure project goals are met on time and within budget
Prepare CAD drawings for boundary surveys, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, land title surveys, as-built surveys, subdivision maps, and other survey-related documents
Process submittals with various city and county agencies
Coordinate construction bid document preparation and contract management
Engage with clients and public agency personnel for successful project execution
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and provide direction for daily tasks for field crews
Coordinate with project engineers, survey analysts, clients, and contractors
Schedule field crews, evaluate staff performance, and prepare survey cost estimates while managing contract hours and scope of work
Requirements
Qualifications
The preferred candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in office mapping related to private land development and public works projects, particularly in California. While no professional license is required, knowledge of California jurisdictional codes, local municipal standards, and procedures is essential.
Key Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, with at least three (3) years in a management role supervising subordinate staff
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with clients and public agencies
Experience preparing construction staking calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D and performing detailed take-offs and construction cost estimates
Familiarity with construction phase sequencing, identifying critical site constraints, and understanding regulatory issues
Proficient in preparing legal descriptions, boundary analysis, closure calculations, and exhibits
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Trimble Business Center; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus
