Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant environment within Aspiranet occupied facilities. This position performs janitorial services, coordinates facility maintenance and repairs, supports Environment of Care (EOC) standards, and assists with site safety and emergency preparedness activities. The role works closely with administrative leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, state regulations, licensing standards, and agency policies while supporting daily facility operations.

Key Responsibilities
Cleaning, Sanitation & Infection Control

Perform routine and deep cleaning of all Aspiranet‑occupied areas, including offices, common areas, restrooms, and high‑touch surfaces.

Clean, disinfect, and sanitize spaces using approved products and procedures in accordance with infection control and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.

Safely handle, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and waste materials.

Monitoring & Environment of Care

Monitor the physical environment for safety hazards, environmental risks, and maintenance needs; report concerns promptly.

Monitor the safe condition and operation of facility spaces, equipment, and supplies.

Report any actual or potential violations of OSHA, safety, or agency standards to appropriate leadership.

Emergency Preparedness & Compliance Documentation

Conduct and document fire drills and disaster/emergency preparedness drills for all assigned shifts.

Coordinate with administrative staff to meet compliance timelines and maintain required documentation.

Attend required meetings, trainings, and safety drills.

Maintenance Coordination, Inventory & Professional Conduct

Coordinate routine building maintenance and repairs with approved vendors or internal resources.

Notify Operations or Administration when repairs, materials, or services require approval or purchase.

Support inventory tracking of facility supplies and equipment to prevent loss, damage, or waste.

Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to agency policies and ethical standards.

Qualifications
Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working knowledge of safe cleaning practices, facility safety, and OSHA regulations with a strong ability to maintain a safe and compliant environment.

Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and manage time effectively in a fast‑paced or structured setting.

Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, facilities, maintenance, or site safety preferred.

Must meet all state‑required conditions of employment, including DOJ fingerprint and Child Abuse Index clearance, TB/Health physical, and valid CA Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and proof of insurance.

Work Environment & Schedule

On-site role in Santa Cruz, CA.

Full‑time, non‑exempt position.

Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Physical Demands

Perform physical tasks throughout the workday (standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing short ladders/steps).

Use and operate cleaning equipment, tools, and facility controls safely in line with OSHA guidelines.

Move materials and supplies throughout the facility; push/pull and lift/carry up to 40 lbs.

Respond appropriately in emergencies and participate in required safety drills.
