Overview

Within the Public Service Academy (PSA) at ASU, the Next Generation Service Corps (NGSC) develops adaptive and collaborative leaders who cross sectors, connect networks, and ignite impact to solve local and global challenges. The program aims to build a pipeline of young leaders to public service opportunities in government, nonprofit, civic, social/human services, and education sectors. ASU seeks a Program Coordinator to oversee internal and external communications, data management, recruitment, and onboarding for NGSC, with responsibility for scholarships and event support.
The Program Coordinator will work with existing technology systems, supervise student staff, and lead planning and execution of large-scale NGSC events. Some weekend and evening work is required during high season.
Salary and Location

Salary Range : $55,000–$58,000; DOE
Location : Campus, Tempe
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training with comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Essential Duties

Outreach and Recruitment

Develops, coordinates, and implements strategic plans for recruitment, application review, and onboarding of Next Generation Service Corps members.
Coordinates and attends outreach and recruitment events and presentations at in-state high schools, community colleges, and community events for NGSC.
Implements best practices related to inclusion and access in outreach, recruitment, and retention of NGSC students.
Serves as a point of contact for prospective students about scholarship and program requirements; liaises with community, students, parents, and internal ASU staff to facilitate PSA recruitment, application, and selection plans.
Organizes application reviews and interviews for student ambassadors and staff; maintains standards for program acceptance.
Facilitates the onboarding process for 120–150 new members annually, including acceptance, welcome, and orientation.

collaborates with ASU Admissions to strategize outreach and email communication plans;
develops and executes communication plans for prospective students, families, current NGSC members, community partners and alumni via email (Salesforce Marketing Cloud);
coordinates social media accounts including LinkedIn and Instagram;
oversees the NGSC email inbox and coordinates responses using QuickText;
coordinates internal website content updates, forms, logs, and bi-weekly newsletter postings.

Student Records and Tracking

Serves as liaison to the ASU Financial Aid and Scholarships office and main contact for NGSC students regarding the PSA Scholarship;
maintains and updates student records in Peoplesoft, Airtable, and with the Scholarships Office;
organizes student records for review at the close of each semester to determine student status and scholarship rates.

Supervision

hires, trains, and supervises 1–2 student staff (including a student worker and NGSC Ambassadors Committee Chair) while indirectly overseeing 20+ student ambassadors.

Desired Qualifications

Experience with recruitment processes: outreach, application administration and review, onboarding or orientation with new students and families.
Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating large-scale events.
Experience developing and executing communication strategies to internal and external audiences using Salesforce (Marketing Cloud and Case Management).
Experience with technology platforms such as Airtable, Monday, Stova, and AdobeSign.
Strong verbal and written communication, time management, attention to detail, flexibility, and teamwork.
Ability to prioritize, delegate, and follow up on tasks; supervisory experience.
Experience working with diverse high-school and college student populations.
Working Environment

Office setting with prolonged sitting and computer use; ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
