
Maintenance II

Performs maintenance of building, grounds, equipment and City facilities. Installs, moves, repairs, and removes equipment and utilities within the building.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strong mechanical aptitudes and working knowledge of mechanical systems. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly. Familiar with all current health and safety regulations. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations. Must be a self-starter who can work well with people at all levels.
Performs complex support duties such as lawn mowing, snow removal, parks maintenance, and facilities maintenance. Responsible for monitoring occasional weekend and/or evening events, security, cleaning, light yard work, and some maintenance.
Performs related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from High School or equivalent.
Two (2) years of responsible experience related to above duties.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
Excellent supervisory skills and experience relating to community service workers.
Mandatory functional knowledge in maintenance trades such as general outside maintenance and landscaping, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, snow removal, and graffiti removal.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Must have the ability to move and lift a minimum of 75 pounds with heavier weight necessary at times.
Quantity - meets productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
Adaptability - adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
Dependability - is consistently at work and on time, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
Safety and security - observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Incumbent of the position performs tasks that require variety of physical activities related to sitting, talking, hearing, and seeing. Driving, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling, feeling, reaching, lifting, grasping, twisting above the waist, bending at the waist, repetitive hand and arm motion, and fine finger manipulation in the use of a computer. Climb ladders; enter crawl spaces, exertion of force. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking and some creative problem solving.
