Job Summary
The Front Office Receptionist at our Charlotte location will be responsible for accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and delivering outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and healthcare team members. This role requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to adhere to confidentiality and established policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors promptly and courteously in person and over the phone, answering or directing inquiries as needed.
Record patient arrivals accurately in the Practice Management System (EMR).
Verify patient identity, create new patient accounts when necessary, and prepare patient paperwork prior to appointments.
Manage appointment scheduling, follow up on “No Show” patients, and ensure optimized utilization of provider and treatment room time.
Verify insurance eligibility and financial information using facility tools, coordinate prior authorizations, and communicate as needed with the Billing Department.
Collect patient copays and balances, maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.
Respond promptly and effectively to patients in distress or emergency situations using sound judgment.
Follow all policies and procedures and assist with team efforts to achieve operational goals.
Answer telephone calls in a polite and timely manner, facilitating clear communication with patients and staff.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Practice Manager or Area Practice Manager.

Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of 1 year customer service experience in a healthcare office setting preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management systems is a plus.
