About the Role
A welder will perform a variety of fabrication duties to assist with the production of pole transformers.
Duties / Responsibilities
Assemble pieces of metal together or repair damage in metal
Perform tasks including but not limited to production needs, fabrication and welding
Read and follow blueprints
Cut metal into appropriate shape and size
Smooth molten metal to remove creases
Weld with all different types of metal, including steel and aluminum
Comply with safety guidelines and procedures
Produce and maintain accurate records
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills / Abilities
Mathematical skills
Steady hands and good eye coordination
Good problem‑solving skills
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Good time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Welding certificate or higher
Physical and Environmental Requirements
Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors
Physical Activities: Sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, crouch, reach, and grasp as needed
PPE: Wear required PPE, including eye and hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe footwear
Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment)
Stamina: Stand for long shifts
Skills: Effective communication, basic math skills, and teamwork
Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards
