Operations Executive (Product Team Lead) – Metal Trading
Location: Chicago, USA
Salary: circa 80-90,000USD base
Imperium Commodity Search is representing a global metals trading business, seeking an operations manager to oversee all operational activities for assigned products, ensuring fluid supply chain and operational excellence in the product area of responsibility.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage letters of credit, ensuring LCs are accurate and timely, monitoring discrepancies and resolving issues with banks and third parties
Maintain relationships with banks, suppliers and customers, to ensure fluid resolution of operational and supply chain matters
Work with finance team to manage customer credit and ensure payment reviews are conducted regularly and accurately
Ensure timely customs and clearance declarations to ensure smooth logistics and supply chain
Manage trade execution, ensuring all contract and P/Os follow company guidelines and compliance
Prepare and oversee all relevant documentation for the metal product line under your jurisdiction
Management of operational staff in the US and overseas, pertinent to your product remit
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in an operations lead/management position, handling letters of credit and documentation/contracts administration
Previous experience in a metal/steel trading business
Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a pressurised trading environment
Good experience in dealing with banks and third parties around supply chain, letters of credit and financial matters
Broad understanding of the mechanics of operations within a commodity trading business
