Job Title:
District Wide MSD Teacher – Special Education
Qualifications
Valid Kentucky Teacher Certificate or Statement of Eligibility
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Citizenship, residency, or work visa required
Responsibilities
Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated location and times.
Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within district resources.
Prepare for assigned classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request.
Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the physical limitations of the location and the needs of students.
Implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Diagnose learning abilities and evaluate student progress regularly.
Maintain complete and accurate records as required by law, district policy, and regulation.
Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
Make provisions to be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when required.
Supervise pupils in and out of classroom activities during the assigned working day, individually and cooperatively with other teachers.
Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on assigned committees.
Cooperate with staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
Assist in selecting books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
Accept shared responsibility for co-curricular activities.
Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and parents regarding academic and behavioral progress.
Maintain cooperative relations with others.
Engage in professional growth in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Represent the school positively in the community.
Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance during scheduled work hours.
Meet the standards and indicators set forth in the Certified Personnel Evaluation Plan.
Abide by the Professional Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified School Personnel.
Perform all other functions deemed necessary by the supervisor and covered by policy or law.
Act in accordance with bylaws, policies of the Fulton County Board of Education, KRS and KAR, and applicable federal laws.
Demonstrate loyalty and dedication to Fulton County Schools.

Instructional salary schedule based on rank and experience.
Certified benefits package.
185 days.
