Basic Job Functions:
Wash Bay Attendants are responsible for keeping C.H.I. fleet tractors and trailers clean and inspection-ready — a direct reflection of the quality and professionalism C.H.I. brings to every customer interaction.
Pick up daily work list at the start of each shift and work independently through assigned tractors and trailers
Power up water heater, pressure washer, and prepare cleaning materials and wash bay area
Couple, uncouple, and back trailers into the wash bay using a tractor
Clean exterior of tractors and trailers using pressure washers, brushes, and approved cleaning agents
Inspect the exterior of each unit during the wash process and report any damage or maintenance issues to the Wash Bay Team Lead
Maintain wash bay equipment and area in clean, safe, and operational condition throughout the shift
All other reasonable duties as assigned
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Schedule
Tuesday-Saturday.
6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Compensation Data
$22.29 per hour + Annual ROA Bonus
ROA Bonus
ROA Bonus percentage is variable, determinate upon company performance each year, up to 33% of annual salary. Current average at C.H.I. is 33%.
Profit-Sharing
10% of Nucor's pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. A large portion is deposited into your profit-sharing account, and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings. Eligible earnings include regular pay, overtime, and bonus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year experience in general labor
Previous experience in trailer shop work or wash bays
Valid CDL driver's license or equivalent experience operating tractors and trailers
