
Department Business and Finance Manager

Manages the department’s budget, forecasting, and financial reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals. Partners with department leadership to analyze financial performance, control costs, and support planning and decision-making.
Duties
Strategic Initiatives
Partner with finance to ensure complete financial analysis – understanding true expenses and those areas that will have an ROI.
Strong financial and numbers skills with a high degree of accuracy to assist with development and refinement of department budgets, planning, and metrics to drive and measure performance.
Departmental Budget & Financial Reconciliation
Identify, evaluate, and build relationships with vendors, including management of SOWs, budgets, and deliverables.
Maintain renewals, development licenses, and purchase orders.
Participate in workforce planning activities with the CSRO, department leaders, Finance and HR
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in business and finance operations.
Experience controlling, reporting, and overseeing financial operations within a specific unit or department.
Highly organized and detail oriented with an ability to anticipate departmental and daily needs without constant direction. Self-directed in ability to follow through on assignments, in a timely manner.
High-level contacts and exposure to sensitive information necessitate considerable use of tact, diplomacy, professionalism, discretion, and judgment.
Self-motivated and excellent problem-solver.
