The Power Distribution Tech is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Reedy Creek Energy Services electric utility transmission, distribution and industrial system. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.
Responsibilities:
Operate electric utility power distribution protection and industrial electrical systems
Provide emergency response and service restoration in utility system outage conditions
Perform preventive maintenance on utility power distribution and industrial systems
Conduct testing, calibration, and repair on electric utility, power distribution, and industrial equipment and systems
Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
Basic Qualifications:
Valid Florida class A or B commercial driver’s license OR ability to obtain Class A or B Permit with air brake endorsement
Journeyman Electrician
Experience with power distribution, generation systems and associated controls
Experience in power distribution system substation operations and protection systems and devices
Experience operating power distribution systems with nominal ratings of 69 kV, 12 kV, 5 kV and below
Understanding of OSHA and industry standard lock-out tag‑out safety procedures
Experience in industry standard switching and tagging procedures for high voltage transmission and distribution
Ability to read electrical schematics to aid in control system troubleshooting of power distribution systems
Possess the ability to interpret blueprints
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in an engineering related field
