Responsibilities
Passion for working with youth and high school athletes; emphasis on top-ranked, elite, and recreational junior tennis players between ages 5‑18 yrs old with varied fitness and movement levels who attend our JMTA programs during the calendar year, as well as holiday and summer camps.
Background in tennis and multi‑directional sports is a plus.
Work in conjunction with the Director, Associate Director and other Sports Performance coaches in the safe instruction and correct execution of all training programming deemed appropriate for the specific individuals and groups one is working with; the athletic development of our players at every level is a priority.
Experience in dynamic warm‑up preparation, movement drills relevant to tennis and/or other change‑of‑direction sports, functional strength, power and conditioning training.
Strong understanding of the energy systems and usage, creative programming, and multi‑sport, sports‑specific drills.
Injury prevention and mobility work are key components of our program; understanding of corrective exercises is vital.
Other responsibilities will be assigned by the Director contingent upon one’s experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field is preferred, such as an ATC.
Certification(s) from National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA CSCS), Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA), or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). CSCS is the preferred certification.
Applicants must have at least 2 + years of work experience in sports performance, strength‑training/athletic development and currently reside in the NY Metro area. We do not cover travel and moving expenses.
Compensation
$35.00 - $50.00 per hour commensurate with experience
